What we offer

We pride ourselves on our wonderful staff – all of whom are fully qualified and experienced. We have a qualified primary school teacher on our team.  All staff are police checked with enhanced disclosures and must have several references.  We tend to have long-term staff members and are proud of their commitment and individual qualities as well as their teamwork skills.  We have continual training rotas with courses such as Child Protection, Learning Difficulties, Creative Play etc. and we are all First Aid Trained including Baby Safe First Aid. We as the owners have 5 young children and most of our staff have their own children too. We feels this greatly improves the quality of care.

Our Baby Unit, ‘Tweenies’, ‘Pre-School’ and ‘Schoolies’ areas are all open plan but have dividing fences to allow different activities to be managed easily.

We have wheelchair access and disabled facilities.

We are fully registered with Care and Social Service Inspectorate for Wales and are regularly inspected by Environmental Health.

We have colourful stimulating friezes on the walls, which also help identify our different play areas.

We have a large, well-equipped and secure garden for lots of fresh air and outdoor activities.  This is safety coated to cushion falls.  We also have a safe, off-road car park.

Our babies have their own range of activities such as themed play days.  Touch trays filled with jelly, foam, etc encourage sensory development with plenty of mess and fun.  Toys are bright, colourful and noisy and aimed to make early learning fun.  Unlike some nurseries, we actively encourage parents to come in and see their children in action rather than deliver them to you at the door.

Many visitors have commented on the calm and happy atmosphere and we encourage parents to book an appointment and see for themselves.

We encourage basic Welsh and have Welsh speaking members of staff.  We teach many skills through worksheets and workbooks as well as themed projects and activities and follow the Foundation Phase for under 8's.  In the Foundation Phases great emphasis is placed on developing your child's communication skills and also on using the outdoor environment as a resource for children's learning. Our staff are fully trained for this and will assess each child's progress through observing them. In accordance with all the latest findings, the emphasis is very much on learning through play at Gower Day Nursery.  We also carefully plan our activities so children can work towards Early Learning Goals in a fun supportive atmosphere.

Daily Activities will include:-

  • Construction Toys
  • Song, Rhyme and Puppets
  • Jigsaws and Puzzles
  • Story times
  • Arts and Craft

On, or near your child's birthday, we can provide a little party in nursery with all their friends.  We will provide table coverings, balloons, hats and party games etc. You can provide a cake and anything else you’d like and if you pop in a camera, we will take some memento photographs.
